Maria Teresa obtained a Bachelor Degree in Law and Political Sciences from Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua, (Magna Cum Laude); University of Pennsylvania, Law School (Legvm Magistrae).
She was member of the Drafting Commission of Law 57, August 6th, 2008, on Panama Merchant Marine.
Author of "The Patria Potestad Under Panamanian Civil Law", Thesis, 1986; "The notice of Defect under the U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, The Laws of the United States and the Latin American Countries", 1987. Co- author of the Chambers Global Practice Guide for Shipping Law – Panama Chapter, since 2018.
