New President of Panama Maritime Law Association (PMLA)

May, 2015- In recent days, Mr. Belisario Porras, a partner in our firm, was sworn in and took office as President of the new Board of Directors from 2015 to 2016 of the Panama Maritime Law Association (APADEMAR in Spanish). The PMLA-APADEMAR is a guild that integrates Panamanian lawyers specialised in the maritime sector. The PMLA participates constantly in national life, suggesting the introduction of rules which then have become laws of the Republic and contributing greatly to the growth of the Panamanian Merchant Marine (Ship Registry) and the establishment of Panama as a global forum for the arrest of ships.

We know that with his experience and professionalism in the maritime sector, Lic. Porras exalts the values of the association he now chairs. PATTON MORENO & ASVAT wishes him much success as the new helmsman of the Panama Maritime Law Association.
